Holiday Rental for Groups of Families and Friends.
The Nightingale Centre, Buxton, Derbyshire, sleeps 15-78 in 30 bedrooms.

Young people from Juniors to University age love visiting The Nightingale Centre. The extensive gardens and grounds are great for team games. There is a five-a-side football pitch and a newly equipped playground area.

We provide excellent indoor learning/activity facilities with well-appointed meeting rooms. 3 of the rooms have digital keyboards. Projector equipment is provided. We can cater for up to 78 people. Accommodation is in well-appointed single, twin or family rooms - 18 of which are en suite. The recently refurbished en-suite dormitory accommodation has leaders' rooms available adjacent.

The area offers good opportunities for field trips and similar outdoor learning opportunities. We can offer advice from the experience of previous users. Great Hucklow is situated at the junction of limestone and shale. Just north of the village is the site of an ancient Iron Age fort. Lead was mined in these parts from the 11th to the 19th century. The village lies within the Peak District National Park in which the forbidding gritstone moors and edges of the Dark Peak frame the lovely limestone dales of the White Peak in the centre and south of the Park.

Within walking distance of Great Hucklow is Eyam the village devastated by the plague, and Tideswell's 'Cathedral of the Peak'. A short drive will take you to Castleton with its Blue John caves and castle, Bakewell and Buxton.

The attractive dining room serves healthy food suitable for young people and our chef is always willing to prepare special menus to suit individual groups.

The centre is well situated for outdoor activities between the White and Dark Peak. After a day's activities you can return to the fully centrally heated centre which has good drying room facilities, facilities for cyclists and is suitable for groups staying at all times of the year.
