Perfect for special events, family celebrations and relaxing breaks in Devon, within the small gated hamlet of Old Bridwell we have a choice of unique cottages in a beautiful setting. All our cottages have private patios and parking with stunning views onto the historic circular Thatched Pumphouse and listed Thatched Cottages. Some are pet-friendly.

The cottages are all fully equipped and retain character features from their past, with the Old Farmhouse being our largest property offering 4 bedrooms and a lovely large inglenook fireplace with wood burner. The Old Farmhouse is now retained by Lady Penny Mountbatten as her Devon home, whilst the adjoining 100-acre deer park, Bridwell Park, remains in the Mountbatten family. We are delighted to offer access to this beautiful Devon farmhouse with very spacious rooms making it ideal for seasonal holidays for larger groups of friends and family.

The original barns have been converted to offer large light rooms with original beams. The wide range of cottages offer 4 poster beds, sleigh beds, super king beds, king beds, twin beds and single beds so we can ensure we offer something to suit everyone. All of our cottages are beautifully furnished with Egyptian cotton bed linens, feather cushions and lovely pure wool throws, cosy leather sofas and great dining spaces to enjoy meals with family and friends.

We want all our guests to feel at home so we provide board games, complimentary Welcome Hampers, a Devonshire Cream Treat, chocolates, flowers and a bottle of Prosecco to help all our guests settle in. We even like to welcome our pet guests with their very own Welcome Hampers.

There is an on-site babysitting and childminding service available, as well as children's equipment.

We also have an on-site dog walking and dog minding service for anyone wanting to explore any non-dog-friendly days out in the area.


All our kitchens are fully tiled and equipped with everything you need for your stay. Some cottages have dishwashers.
All have dining facilities, Farmhouse seats 10. For larger parties you can book the Thatched Pumphouse for drinks or the Walled Garden for events.
All our cottages have spacious sitting rooms and large TVs many of our cottages have stunning views onto the Thatched Pumphouse with seating area.
All our cottages have Free view TV and DVD players.
WiFi is free and available across all cottages, Thatched Pumphouse, garden areas and dog-walking paddock. The mobile signal is good and we have 4G.
We provide badminton rackets for use in the walled garden and play tents for our toddler guests to help them enjoy quieter play in the Walled Garden.
All have central heating. Our largest cottage the Old Farmhouse which sleeps 8 has an inglenook fireplace.
Range of bedrooms available with twin bedrooms, singles, super kings, kings and doubles and four-poster bedrooms. Most en suite. Additional sofa beds.
All bed linens and towels are provided; for longer stays we also arrange a fresh towels delivery and linen change.
Most bedrooms are en suite with either walk-in showers or baths with a shower, also large fully tiled family bathrooms. Baby baths on request.
We have a downstairs large bedroom at Old Farmhouse with a downstairs toilet; the room can be set up as a twin or super king.
High chairs, baby gates, travel cots, baby baths and changing mats. We offer an on-site NVQ3 supervised babysitting and childminding service.
A play paddock which is being developed including goal posts, basketball hoop, hammocks, fire pit, barbecue area, pizza oven and willow wigwams.
There is no pool.
There is private parking for up to 16 cars at Old Bridwell, with parking outside the cottages. If additional parking is required this can be arranged.
We have a no smoking policy inside all of our cottages, smoking is permitted outside and ashtrays are provided.
We love to host pet guests at all our cottages, the only exception is Spring Cottage, which we keep as a cottage for any allergy sufferers.


Less than 5 minutes from Junction 27 of the M5 and only 7 minutes from Tiverton Parkway Railway Station with direct trains to London Paddington and Penzance. Only 30 minutes from the Jurassic Coast.
Co-op Uffculme, Post Office Uffulme, One Stop Willand, Tesco Cullompton, Waitrose Wellington.
Waterloo Cross and Halfway House Pubs both less than a mile away. A traditional Devon family run pub, Globe Inn at Sampford Peverell, has play area, adjoins the Grand Western Canal and hires bikes.
