A large sitting/dining room in Blackthorn Cottage allows groups to eat together and socialise. Each cottage has a patio area for outdoor dining too. A 1930's vintage caravan (Betsy) is also available to rent.

During your stay you can join in a variety of outdoor pursuits, explore our rich cultural heritage, feast on fresh local produce, enjoy the beauty of the County Down landscape or just relax and unwind using Slievemoyle Cottages as your base. Views from our hill stretch out across our unique drumlin landscape to the Irish Sea coast and beyond to the Isle of Man.

Situated near Castle Ward National Trust property - the filming location for many recent movies including HBO Game of Thrones - Slievemoyle is the ideal starting point to begin your exploration of this beautiful area. St Patrick, patron Saint of Ireland, thought so - and landed close by in 432AD. He is also buried in our local town - Downpatrick.

A short but scenic car ferry journey from Strangford to Portaferry will allow you to explore the Ards Peninsula with its wonderful Exploris Aquarium, ancient windmills, pretty coastal villages and NT Mountstewart estate. The Strangford Lough coastline near Slievemoyle has been designated as an Area of Special Scientific Interest and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty - and wildlife abounds. Almost 50 species of birds have been identified on our land.

Whether it's a short break you need or a week or more, there is no better place to relax and unwind than at Slievemoyle. Our guests' reviews constantly refer to the sense of peace felt while visiting our cottages.
