YHA affiliated Stonehenge Hostel is a fantastic choice for all kinds of groups including multi generation families, business meetings, education and special interest gatherings. Available as a shared hostel, or with exclusive use for larger groups.

This large holiday bunkhouse or shared hostel near Avebury is a good base for exploring this beautiful area of Wiltshire. There is plenty to see and do from the door of the hostel including alpaca walking, a well stocked farm shop and on site vineyard producing award winning English sparkling wine. The on site cafe bar is a popular choice, and we can cater for meals for large groups. The kids will have fun in the indoor play area. And everyone will love visiting the 40 acre Cholderton Rare Breeds Farm - guests enjoy free entry.

The bunkhouse style accommodation is ideal for those wanting to holiday on a budget without compromising on comfort. The kitchen is well equipped and there is an inside space for around 10 people dining together, although getting together in the cafe bar might work well for larger numbers. The lounge area and easy chairs in the conservatory are great for some chill out time after supper or on a nice day there are picnic benches outside.

Bedrooms sleep between 2 and 10 guests in bunks and all are clean, spacious and warm. Some dorms are same sex and some are dedicated for families. Facilities across the hostel are plentiful with a combination of en suites and shared shower rooms. The ground floor accessible bedroom and bathroom are a consideration for anyone less mobile.

Stonehenge Hostel is ideally suited to those enjoying outdoor pursuits including walking, cycling, bird watching and water sports, and is really close to the King Alfred's Way cycle route. There is also the possibility of setting up indoor activities for hobby groups such as yoga, pilates or art. For corporate or religious events, there are many rooms to gather in and plenty of outside space for team building. Attractions such as Stonehenge, Salisbury Cathedral and Avebury Stone Circle are within easy reach. Bath is a hugely interesting day out and only an hour away.

Booking Information

Sole occupancy: 10% deposit on booking, full balance to be paid at least 1 week before stay. For individual hostel bookings, full payment required at time of booking. Flexible changeover and length of stay. Check in between 5pm and 9pm, check out by 10am. No parties, no pets, no smoking.

Location

Located on the Cholderton Rare Breeds Farm a few minutes from Cholderton. 5 minutes from Amesbury and 10 minutes from Stonehenge. Andover is 15 minutes and Warminster 30 minutes. M3 30 minutes.

  • Bus stop is a 20 minute walk at the turning to the Rare Breeds Centre.
  • Salisbury Railway Station is a 25 min drive or about 1hr 10 mins on public transport.
  • Amesbury is 5 minutes away.
  • On site farm shop. Amesbury has the main supermarkets including Tesco, Aldi. Lidl and Budgens.
  • On-site restaurant or The Crown Inn, Cholderton, is just under a 20 minute walk or very short drive.
  • Southampton Airport is 45 minutes.
