Accommodation breaks down to a twinbed room, 6 four bed family rooms, 1 six and 1 eight dormitory rooms and a newly re-furbished flat which sleeps up to 5 people. 3 Shepherds' Huts sleep two people in each and one has a double with an extra over.

Set in its own grounds in the market town of Wooler, the Hostel now sleeps 58 in its newly refurbished en suite rooms and Shepherds' Huts.

Purpose built in 1943 to accommodate the Land Army girls. Interpretation panels displayed around the hostel tell of the buildings fascinating history, making it the ideal place for educational group visits for children.

A large self-catered kitchen is open to guests or there is an exceptional reasonably priced restaurant open, using local produce where available. Other facilities include a large dining room/common room with Wi-Fi, Large on-site car park and safe secure cycle storage. Spread over one floor the Hostel full disability access throughout. A laundry room is available with specialist drying facilities.

Location and proximity to a number of Northumberland's treasures such as Northumberland National Park, the St. Cuthbert's Way and it’s spectacular views of the Glendale's and Cheviot Hills make it ideal specialist groups to visit. Other nearby attractions include bird watching at the sea bird sanctuary on the Farne Islands, and castles such as Etal, Alnwick and Bamburgh and the miles of sandy beaches on the Northumberland coast.

Other attractions include the Wooler cycle hub routes, and the quiet lanes of the Pennines cycle way. Or for the more adventurous the near bridleways are perfect for mountain biking, providing some of the best bouldering in the UK. Accredited with the a 3 star Hostel Badge and also open to the Walkers and Cyclists Welcome Scheme.

Fully open during March-November for individuals and groups, it is also available for exclusive use for groups November – March

Facilities

A self catering kitchen is also available for the use of guests.
The dining area can cater for up to 57 guests in one sitting.
The common room shares the same open-plan space as the dining area, Wi-Fi is available.
The hostel does not have a TV on site, a great chance for guests to catch-up about their day and get away from it all.
Good mobile reception.
The hostel does not have a games room.
The centre has the benefit of a full central heating system and a wood-burner located in the common/dining room.
The hostel has dorms comprising of twin, four, six and eight bunk rooms, four of the rooms are en-suite. The Shepherds' Huts cosy spaces sleep two.
All linen is provided.
Hostel dorm bedrooms are serviced by male and female showers and toilets. The Shepherds Huts have a separate shower room just metres from your door.
The hostel has full disability access to all areas throughout the building, even the garden is on one level enabling access for all.
Plenty of games and puzzles for the young and the young at heart, including a giant Connect four.
The hostel sits within its own grounds there is plenty of space for all and picnic tables. We now have Shepherds sleeping Huts available.
The hostel does not have a pool.
On site parking for up to 14 vehicles and a locked cycle storage shed.
The building is non-smoking throughout.
Pets are not allowed at the youth hostel. Unless you are using exclusive hire and have prior permission from the manager.

Situated close to the Scottish Border on the edge of Northumberland National Park, Wooler Hostel has 57 beds and is ideal accommodation for groups.
Wooler, 400 metres to the market place.
Wooler Town Centre has a large number of shops and is just 400 metres walk from the hostel.
Wooler has four pubs and a number of cafes, restaurants and takeaways just 400 metres walk from the hostel.

Regular buses to Berwick & Alnwick leave from the Market Place, a 400 metre walk from the hostel.
Newcastle International is less than an hour away and Edinburgh International can be reached in 1 hr 15 mins.
