Big cosy bunkroom accommodation sleeping 37 in Newcastle upon Tyne for activity groups and families

Holiday Rental for Groups of Families and Friends.
Gibside Stables Learning & Discovery Centre, Tyne and Wear, sleeps 37 in 2 bedrooms.

Gibside Stables Learning & Discovery Centre lies in the heart of Gibside, an 18th century landscape forest garden that is now owned and managed by the National Trust.

School, family, community and corporate groups can stay in our dormitory style accommodation bringing up to 37 people to have a private and personalised stay in our beautiful, listed Georgian style Stables.

Your group can explore our woods, discover our wildlife and learn our history by wandering around the estate in your own time or by selecting from our range of hands-on educational activities, ideal for visiting school groups or by participating in our engaging family events programme.

You can rest and unwind in your home from home environment, play games or run classroom sessions in our comfortable Red Kite Room (which also has an adjoining country style kitchen) or dine here if you choose to self cater.

If you wish to take a break from cooking and accept our catering service you can dine in our newly refurbished Bowes Room, and enjoy our home cooked, healthy and tasty meals.

Gibside has over 600 acres of woodland, parkland and wetland plus historic features like the Palladian Chapel, green house, walled garden and hall that will allow you to reconnect with nature and history during your stay.

You will be surrounded by our magnificent and often rare wildlife - with sightings of the recently returned red kite now common over head, watch swallows dive and feed around the Stables courtyard, find badgers digging outside the door, spot deer strolling through the meadows and see bats darting past as night approaches.

You can use the Stables as a base to visit north-east England's favourite tourist attractions and facilities as it is located only a few miles from Gateshead's Metro Centre and the A1.

Our stories are hundreds of years old, but staying at the Stables will allow your group to feel part of the history and help shape stories of the future. Don't miss out!
