Gogwell's magical setting makes it one of Devon's most unique homestays. It is perfect for couples, families, multi-generational holidays, group gatherings, yoga and corporate retreats.

Gogwell is a south facing house sitting on top of Newts Hill overlooking 50 miles of unspoilt views. It feels remote - as it is up its own half mile drive - but it is also very convenient for the market town of Tiverton, all transport links and the very best of Devon.

It's designed to be the sort of house we would most like to stay in ourselves. Importantly it's really comfortable: with lovely beds, lots of lovely white crisp linen, lovely bathrooms - perfect for sleeping and unwinding. Guests say they've never slept better.

There's lots of space to enjoy being together in. The south facing verandah is the perfect place for all outdoor eating, barbecues, croquet spectating, sundowners, watching children playing on the lawn, reading and soaking up the view, the bird song and the sense of peace. There's a games room in the converted stables with table tennis and darts, rounders, badminton kit. The lovely 1 acre garden is fenced and has 3 hammocks hanging in the trees.

There's a great central dining room at the heart of the house, with a wood burning stove and room for 14 around the table. This is an oak floored, open plan room which comes off the kitchen so that cooking isn't a lonely affair, but there's a second kitchen for prep too.

There are also spaces for being apart in. The 2 comfortable sitting rooms provide these, both have open fires. One has a large TV, games and an oak floor and opens into the garden, the other is a bit more formal, carpeted and cosy.

Gogwell is well placed to explore Devon from - choose from Exmoor, the Canal, Exeter, North Devon beaches, National Trust Houses, Tiverton golf course. Or enjoy the footpaths in all directions including to Bickleigh. There's also 3 miles of fishing on the Exe for guests to enjoy.

Our barn conversion will provide an extra bedroom, ideal for older or disabled guests as it is all on one level - and a yoga studio/function room. And the Owl House in the grounds is a great overspill option for youngsters.
