Specialist fully accessible outdoor activity centre sleeping 60 for youth and school group residentials near Keswick

Holiday Rental for Groups of Families and Friends.
Lake District Calvert Trust, Keswick, Cumbria, Lake District, sleeps 10-60 in 26 bedrooms.

With over 40 years’ experience, we have all the specialist accommodation, equipment, staff and knowledge required to enable even those with the most complex needs to enjoy their stay. We know that experiences of learning outside the classroom in a residential setting can really make a difference to children and young adults with Special Educational Needs in building their confidence, independence and social skills. It is amazing seeing the difference just a few days in a new and challenging environment can make to people who may face significant tests and hurdles in their daily lives.

Activities that build strong peer relationships, communications and teamwork are ideal for students to work together to build their self esteem. Away from home they also have the opportunity to become more independent rather than being able to rely on their families to do some of the things they are capable of doing themselves, but just need the confidence to practise. Our residents get advantages from their trip in terms of self-confidence and empathy with their peers, but what really develops is their sense of themselves and their abilities. Back in the classroom, you can also refer back to that shared experience as it's something they will remember for the rest of their lives.

Catering for up to 60 guests, every aspect of the centre is fully accessible and rooms are specifically designed to enable the care of those with profound and complex disabilities and a full range of additional specialist equipment is available on request. Rooms are mainly twins, but larger rooms are available; all have en suite wet-rooms.
