The refurbished self catering holiday cottages at Lower Trengale are set within 6 acres in a peaceful countryside location just 12 miles from the sandy beach and fishing village of Looe on the south coast of Cornwall, an ideal location for exploring the main attractions in Cornwall.
Lower Trengale is an ideal base for a family holiday or weekend get together, and our outdoor play area and indoor games room with pool and table tennis tables provide plenty to amuse the children. The new studio room is able to seat 30 for dinner and celebrations.
We are a very dog friendly place and welcome well behaved four legged visitors who can go walkies on our land. Dogs welcome in all the cottages except for Lavender (maximum of 2 dogs per cottage).
Lower Trengale holiday cottages are a mile from the tranquil village of St. Neot. Close by are the wedding venues of Trevenna and Carnglaze Caverns. The wild expanse of Bodmin Moor with its ancient and industrial archeology and mining heritage lies about 1.5 miles to the north and there are lovely walks close by at Golitha Falls and at the Hurlers bronze age stone circle at Minions. More serious walkers can try the circular 60 mile trail around Bodmin Moor. Siblyback Lake also offers walking and cycling as well as sailing and wakeboarding at its waterspouts centre.
The South West Coastal Path offers stunning sea views and coastal scenery. You can join the path at Looe and walk in one direction to Polperro and on to Fowey and in the other direction to the sandy beaches of Seaton and Whitsand Bay.
The Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan are a 30 minute drive and also within easy reach are the National Trust houses and gardens at Lanhydrock and Cotehele. The rugged North Cornish Coast with Padstow (and Rick Stein's famous Seafood Restaurant), Rock and Port Isaac (of Doc Martin fame) are a similar distance.
A cream tea and warm welcome awaits you from Kay and Mike (vet of 35 years) along with Darcy and Ruby the dogs, the cats Diamond and Jubilee, our pony called Tempo, not forgetting the pygmy goats Pumba and Hatty.
