The Self Catering Barn sleeps 25 plus an annex can be hired in addition for an extra 2 people (plus sofa bed)
Blencathra View sleeps 17 + pull-out
Camping Barn sleeps 12 people

Rookin House is in a stunning lakeland location with Blencathra mountain range providing a breathtaking back drop. There are 3 accommodation barns, tastefully converted and equipped with modern facilities, ranging from a luxury camping barn to a barn conversion converted specifically with large groups and entertaining in mind.

There is plenty of space available to play sports and games if you still have enough energy at the end of day, or if you prefer a more tranquil end to the day you could relax and fish, you never know you might even catch your supper.

All properties are a superb base for doing activities here at Rookin House Equestrian & Activity Centre, including horse riding, quad biking, go karting, reverse steer blindfold driving and power turns, or country pursuits such as fishing, clay shooting, air rifles and archery.

Facilities

The fully equipped kitchen includes general crockery and cutlery, pots and pans along with a 6 ring range cooker, dishwasher and microwave.
Each property can dine its occupancy. There are large tables with chairs which you can organise to suit your requirements from a banquet to a buffet.
The sitting room has leather sofas and a flat screen TV. Blencathra View has a fantastic wood burning stove. The Self Catering Barn has a pool table.
Large flat screen TV and DVD player but there is so much to do you probably won't have time to watch TV.
Good mobile signal on some networks but not available through out the whole of the property.

Central heating in all, both Blencathra View and the Self Catering Barn have underfloor-heating downstairs. Blencathra View has a wood burning stove.
Varies between properties (which can sleep 56 between them) but mainly rooms sleeping 2 to 4 people with adult sized bunk beds so can cater for most.
Bed linen can be hired for a small extra charge. Pillows and duvets provided. Please bring towels.
Shower rooms with plenty of power and hot water.
We are not equipped to accommodate disabled guests.
Children are very welcome. There are lots of activities on site for varying ages and plenty of interesting places to visit locally.
An abundance of outdoor activities are available on site, charged separately. Plenty of space for playing outside and a kick about!
We don't have a swimming pool.
Plenty of parking next to each property.
Properties are non smoking.
No pets sorry, we are based on a hill farm and have too many of our own animals.

Location

Rookin House is in the heart of the English Lake District. The accommodation on site offers the perfect venue for any celebration and get together, or for an action-packed weekend of activities.
The market towns of Penrith or Keswick are both 9 miles away (10 minutes in a car).
On the camp site next door and there is a wonderful farm shop just a few miles away. The nearest supermarkets are in Penrith and Keswick.
The Troutbeck Inn is 1.25 miles away and does fantastic food and the Sportsman Inn approx 2.5 miles away is ideal for large groups.

The nearest bus stop in the winter is 1.25 miles away. In the summer there are additional services.
