Tithe Barn Cottages are within an historic grade 2* listed Medieval Longhouse, lovingly converted and retaining many original features which gives them plenty of character. All are beautifully furnished and warm and welcoming - a fantastic venue for family get togethers, with private space for different elements of your group.

The Farmhouse is the largest of 3 cottages. The ground floor presents a spacious yet cosy lounge/diner seating 8 at the table, with wood burning stove, feature window and window seat. There is a separate fully fitted kitchen/breakfasting room and downstairs cloakroom.

On the first floor are 2 bedrooms. The master bedroom has a super-king size bed and boasts amazing feature oak beams which have been carbon dated back to the reign of King Henry V111 and a spectacular gothic arched window. En suite bathroom with his and hers wash basins, walk in shower and relaxing roll top bath add to the luxury. The second bedroom also boasts an original feature arched window and en suite shower room.

The ground floor former cow byre has been sensitively restored to retain its original character, including windows with exposed stonework. Entrance lobby has lots of storage space for boots. Beautifully furnished open plan kitchen/diner/living room with fully fitted kitchen and an electric log burning effect stove. The master bedroom has the option of twin or super-king size beds. Bedroom 2 is a double. Family shower room has feature exposed medieval door. Additional separate cloakroom.

Situated on the first floor above The Byre, The Hayloft has an open plankitchen/diner/living room area with a vaulted ceiling and windows with exposed stonework, and a wood burning stove. The master bedroom has a king size bed, feature windows which overlook the family farm and an en suite bathroom. Bedroom 2 has twin beds, feature stable door and en suite shower room.

Externally there is a communal garden with seating area, and parking space.

A great base for walkers, cyclist or anyone wishing to visit the coast or local attractions.

Dining for 4 persons in Hayloft and Byre and up to 8 persons in the Farmhouse.

Digital 40 inch Freesat TV in each living area. DAB radio in each property.
Free WiFi in each property. Good mobile reception in most areas.
There is no games room.
Wood burning stoves in the Farmhouse and Hayloft. Log effect electric fire in the Byre.
3 queen size beds, 2 of which are zip and link. 1 king size bed, 1 double and 1 twin room. 4 en suite facilities.
Hypoallergenic duvets and crisp high quality cotton bed linen, including makes such as Christys and Sanderson’s.
Luxury en suite bathrooms to both bedrooms in the Farmhouse and Hayloft. Spacious quadrant shower in the Byre family bathroom.

There is no pool.
Private car park for up to 5 cars with parking for a further 3 cars nearby.
Strictly no smoking.
Up to 2 well behaved dogs allowed per property by prior arrangement.


Located adjacent to the owners farm and on the edge of Easington Village. Close to the Durham Heritage Coastal Walk, within a short distance of Seaham Beach for Sea Glass lovers and beachcombers
Seaham Harbour 4 miles, World Heritage site of Durham City 9 miles, Sunderland and Hartlepool 10 miles, Newcastle 17 miles.
Two village stores within five minutes walk. Post Office and Fish and Chip shop also five minutes away.
Half Moon pub is located 5 minutes walk away, food is served lunch and evening times.

Booking Information

Rates quoted are for all three properties.
Changeover days Fridays and Mondays.
Refundable damage deposit of £100 per cottage booked.
Properties available from 3pm on day of occupation.
Vacated by 10 am on the date of departure.
