Dolben Hall is a 9 bedroomed former mansion hall with excellent homely facilities. It is situated in a 25-acre forest site in the heart of the Cefn Valley, St Asaph and nestles on the banks of the River Elwy. Located just 3.5m miles inland from the main A55 route into North Wales it is easily accessible & close to beaches, castles & Snowdonia.
We offer either full board, bed & breakfast or self-catering. Our resident chef has been with us for 13 years and provides good wholesome home-made food. Many compliment his cooking. The house offers a warm comfortable lounge with open fire, 2 dining rooms, a games room & library, large well fitted kitchen and utility room, a lecture room and 9 spacious bedrooms with single and bunk beds and 5 bathrooms. There is HD Sky, DVD and video, BBQ area & patio, purpose-built outdoor fire area with seats and a stores room that contains everything you need for the activities.
In addition to the house we now have a Bell Tent Village. Tents are carpeted, heated, have lighting & electricity and all you need is a sleeping bag, pillow and towel as camp beds & mattresses are provided. Each tent has a dedicated bench & table set to sit and enjoy the views. Dogs allowed in Tents.
Dolben Hall sits within Open Door Adventure which is an Outdoor Pursuits Centre so we are able to offer 20 on-site activities to make your stay even more fun. You don’t need to leave the Centre and still have an adrenaline/fun filled holiday; alternately you can just enjoy the nature & take gentle strolls. Typical activities incl low and high ropes course with aerial runway, zip wire, forest area for bush-craft, paintball and quad treks, mountain biking, archery & rifle shooting and even have specific fields for team building and problem solving exercises. The on site River Elwy allows us to offer kayaking, canoeing, raft building and we also offer off-site white water rafting, gorge walking & coasteering.
