Dolben Hall is a 10 bedroomed former mansion hall with excellent residential-stay facilities Sleeps 40. Plus a Bell Tent Village with Showers/Toilets sleeps 40 and a newly erected Chalet with Lounge and Kitchen facilities for self catering. Situated on a 25 acre site in the heart of the beautiful Cefn Valley. With the River Elwy running through our grounds
On site we have our own Limestone rock face and cave, low & high Ropes Course with aerial runway, forest area for paintball and quad treks (16+ only) and specific Fields for Team Building /Problem Solving Exercises. The river gives us access to Kayak and Canoe, Raft Building and White Water Rafting.
The Centre provides a wide range of Outdoor Pursuits on land and water, from climbing and abseiling to quad biking, Canoe/Kayaking, Caving, Archery, Mountain Biking, Low and High Ropes Course, Paintball Games, Leap of faith, Jacobs Ladder, Zip Wire, assault course, Team Building and problem Solving exercises and these are all on site!
Ideal for Schools, Colleges and Youth Groups, Residential Educational Multi-Activity Programmes, Team Building Courses we utilise the outdoor as a medium to enhance Key Skills, Confidence and Personal Development.
Working together, we can help create a culture that is more encouraging and rewarding to work within. We help pupils and students by using outdoor activities as a medium to promote programmes that enrich and empower participants to discover themselves and home in on Key Skills.
We concentrate on effective communication, Toleration, problem solving, working with others, Delegation and team development, with a selection of tailor-made activities to bring individuals together, encouraging the Teams to communicate effectively and develop Key skills in which they benefit not only individually but also as a team.

We have a fully fitted out kitchen, a utility room with fridge, freezer, microwave, washing machine, tea and coffee making facilities and soft drinks.

Pleasant views to the river and grounds, seating for 50.

Sitting Room

A spacious lounge with HD LCD 40 inch television, DVD and video and Wii games console. We also have a games room, library and separate lecture room.

TV and Music Facilities

In the Lounge, Two Dining Rooms, A utility room with Storage cupboards, 3 Fridges, Freezer, Tea/ Coffee drinks making facilities, Washer, Microwave.

Games Room

Yes with snooker, football, Play Station and Wii games, library, plus a range of outside facilities.

Heating and Open Fires

Oil central heating in every room, open fire in lounge and games room.


9 ample sized bedrooms, to accommodate up to 50 people. The Bell Tent Village accommodates a further 48 people from May to September.


All bed linen provided with duvets and pillows (towels required). Bell Tents require you to bring sleeping bags & pillows


Four bathrooms upstairs, one bathroom downstairs with ample shower bath facilities. Outside Toilets and Shower facilities.

Open Door Adventure is ideally situated at Bont Newydd near St Asaph, North Wales 30 miles from Chester. At J27 on the A55 turn off at J27 St Asaph head for Bont Newydd.

  • You can get most major bus routes to Rhyl.
  • Rhyl, North Wales 7 miles, we provide courtesy transport to & from the station.
  • Denbigh & St Asaph, 3 miles away - good facilities; pubs, banks, supermarkets and shops.
  • Henllan Post Office and general stores I Km away
  • Denbigh or St Asaph and Henllan.
  • Manchester and Liverpool Airport are both one hour away from the centre.
