Sleeps 2 to 26 in the house and nearby traditional Spanish farmhouse and adjacent newly converted apartments.

Finca del Alamo sits on the side of the hill and has split levels to fit the geography. The house has been attractively and carefully decorated as a home. It is a very relaxing place and perfect for winding down, with a lot of different spaces to fit larger or smaller numbers. It has views to the coast in one direction and over the unspoilt village of Nijar, 2km away, and the mountains in the other. There is a swimming pool attached to the house, lots of secluded nooks and crannies for sunbathing or table tennis or reading, and hammocks to lie and enjoy the tranquillity and far reaching views. It is within a 30-35 min radius of a range of protected beaches all within the Cabo de Gata national park. A smaller swimming pool is being built near to the newly converted apartments for guests to use.

The main house sleeps 12 people (2 double bedrooms and 4 twins) comfortably. 5 bedrooms have newly renovated en suite bathrooms. The 6th studio twin bedroom shares a bathroom with bedroom 5.

There is a recently restored traditional style cortijo on the estate, also available to rent, 100 metres away from the main house. This consists of 6 self contained apartments which can be rented as a whole or separately. Details

There are two suitable areas for yoga and pilates, mats and equipment can be provided for courses.

WiFi is available in both properties.

The resort of Almeria is 30 mins away and has several championships golf courses (details upon request), there is a yoga retreat in the next village 15 mins away as well as hot springs. A tennis court is 5 minutes drive away (booking required during peak season) and Granada and the Alhambra is just under 2 hours drive away. Horse riding can be arranged at a local hotel.


Large, well equipped kitchen with new electric oven, dishwasher, 2 large fridges. Washing machine. Cortijo apartments have own well equipped kitchens.
The airy dining room is near the kitchen and can seat 12 comfortably with access to one of the outside dining areas (can seat a further 10) and BBQ.
Large, comfortable drawing room - two 3-seater sofas, armchairs. Access onto the top terrace. Open plan kitchen/living rooms in cortijo apartments.
There is a cosy television room off the main drawing room with a television and DVD player. CD player also available for guests to use.
There is WiFi on the ground floor which extends outside to near the pool, WiFi is also available in the cortijo. There is a landline for local calls.
There is a table tennis table downstairs near the pool with bats and balls for guests to use.
The drawing room has an open fire and all bedrooms have heaters for guests to use during the colder months. Air con is being installed in all bedrooms
The main house has 6 bedrooms, two double and four twin bedrooms, all with en suite bathrooms apart from bedroom 6. The cortijo has 6 bedrooms.
All bed linen, bath and beach towels are provided. The housekeeper is available for extra cleaning at 15 Euros per hour should this be required.
The 5 en suite bathrooms in the main house have been newly renovated, all have showers over baths. The 4 bathrooms in the cortijo are en suite.
Due to the house being built on the side of a hill, we do not consider the house to be suitable for disabled users.
We can provide a cot and highchair for small children. Child minding and baby monitors are not provided.
10 sun loungers and 6 very comfortable sun chairs are available, and the eating areas have large tables and comfortable chairs for alfresco dining.
There is an unheated swimming pool near the main house cleaned using a bespoke plant based filtration system with the water regularly tested.
Covered parking for 3 cars is available for guests to use by the main house. There is space for several cars to be parked by the cortijo.
Smoking is only permitted on the top outside terrace due to the high risk of fire in the entire area.
No pets are allowed.


The house and cortijo are located 2 km from the village of Nijar. Almeria airport is 30 minutes drive from the house. Several unpopulated and attractive beaches are within 30 minutes drive also.
Nijar is a pretty small village, well known for its crafts. Almeria is the regional capital and is 40 minutes drive from the house.
Nijar has several small grocery shops for day to day essentials. There is a large well stocked supermarket called Mercadona at Campohermosa which is 20 minutes drive from the house.
There is a pizzeria in Nijar and several tapas bars. For more choice, you need to go to Almeria.

There is no station within easy reach.
Almeria bus station is 35 minutes from the house but public transport is limited in this area and we strongly recommend a car is hired from the airport.
Almeria airport is 30 minutes drive from the house. Murcia is 1.5 hrs and Alicante is 2.5 hours.
