Lowfield Farm is an historic farmhouse built in 1585, close to the Limestone Way, the old Roman Road leading to London. Luxurious Lowfield Farmhouse is perfect for large groups with plenty of space for family and friends to get together. With 7 bedrooms (2 with 4 poster beds), a large well equipped kitchen with an Aga, a large dining room seating 18, lounge for cosy evenings by the wood burner, and a conservatory adjoining the patio and garden with beautiful far reaching countryside views and sunsets. Escape all the stresses and pressure of everyday life in this stunning peaceful paradise, yet close to all the attractions of the area.
Old Dairy sleeps 11 in 5 bedrooms, a more contemporary style but again with oodles of open plan space for a large group. A separate annexe affords privacy for 3 more guests too.
This special house has walks from the doorstep, our own field for people to use, play football, rounders, cricket, try yoga or even a boot camp.
Lowfield is situated mid country, not far from motorways, so it is easy to meet friends and family from all over the country or even the world for reunions and special occasions, or just for a holiday or short break. Manchester, East Midlands, Leeds, Doncaster and Birmingham Airports are not too far away. Nearby, too, are Chesterfield and Sheffield train stations.
Situated in beautiful Derbyshire countryside, popular for walking, cycling, running, climbing, bird watching, even star gazing, Lowfield Farm is around 12 minutes drive from all the popular Derbyshire and Peak Park destinations of Bakewell, Chatsworth, Matlock and Buxton. There is plenty to do in the surrounding area, from events at Chatsworth, L'Eroica, the vintage bike race, Haddon Hall, Buxton Opera House, Matlock Illuminations and the pretty market town of Bakewell, home of the famous Bakewell Pudding and the nearby Monsal Trail. Edale, start of the Pennine Way, is nearby. For the more adventurous, there is the yearly Y?NOT festival attracting famous bands and becoming increasingly popular with all ages.
