The Old School House was built in 1864 and was the village school until the 1960's. Situated in the old village with a unique view of the red tiled cottage roof tops and the sea, it is an ideal venue for families, schools, colleges and other groups wanting to experience the friendliness and hospitality of the Bay and the North Yorkshire coast.
We sleep 42 in bunk-bedded centrally-heated accommodation spread through 9 bedrooms. B&B and fully catered groups have access to a small kitchenette with microwave, kettles and a fridge whilst self-catering groups also have the use of the main commercially equipped kitchen. There is a common room with sofas and chairs, a separate dining room and a boot room to store and dry wet gear.
Set in the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, on the coast between Whitby and Scarborough. Robin Hoods Bay is an excellent location for school groups doing art, geography or geology residential's. For families and other groups the Bay offers pubs serving food (with family rooms), cafes, restaurants, gift shops, book shops, galleries and much more. The beach is renowned for fossil-hunting. With the Coast to Coast walk finishing in Robin Hoods Bay, the Cleveland Way passing through and the easy access to the Moors we are an ideal base for walkers. The old railway line from Whitby to Scarborough has been made into a traffic free cycle route passing through Robin Hoods Bay. It offers cycling and easy walking in either direction.
