This imposing traditional house sits on the edge of the stunning Ogston reservoir in Derbyshire with breathtaking views from every angle. A perfect setting for family holidays and special occasions, or weekends away with girlfriends and for walking breaks.

Oldfield House retains a number of original features but has been lovingly restored to create a space with all modern conveniences. The addition of the fabulous orangery means that there is a perfect place for everyone to gather with dining for 13, underfloor heating, luxury seating, a home cinema and amazing lakeside views. Further living spaces are offered in the Blue Room and the snug, both having coal effect gas fires for warmth and a cosy ambience - perfect for multi generational groups to spread out.

The beautiful hand painted kitchen is well equipped with all appliances including a gas range oven, American style fridge/freezer and a dishwasher. There is plenty of space to prepare a special meal for your group but it is worth asking owner Julie about private dining packages on offer giving you the opportunity to sit back and relax.

There are so many opportunities to take in the backdrop of Ogston reservoir from the gardens. To the side of the property are seating areas with picnic tables and a large open grassed space for playing games. There is a large garden to the front with further seating and steps leading down to another lawned area - an open space perfect for youngsters who need to run around and let off some steam while you relax.

Accommodation comes with a mix of doubles, king size and a single. The bathrooms offer good facilities, 2 on the first floor and 1 on the second. There is also a ground floor cloakroom for added comfort.

Convenient for the bustling towns of Ashbourne, Bakewell and Matlock, Oldfield House is perfect for exploring this amazing area. Nearby are some of the UK's most famous stately homes including Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and Hardwick Hall. For those who wish to be more active, Carsington Water is close to Oldfield where there is a whole range of leisure experiences on offer or simply take advantage of the superb walks from the door.

Facilities

The kitchen is well equipped including gas range oven, hob, American style fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave and washer drier.
There is dining in the Orangery for up to 13. Formal dining for 6 in the Blue Room.
The Orangery - comfortable lounge area with plenty of seating and home cinema system. Blue Room with formal lounge space and kitchen snug.
5 colour TVs, DVD players, Basic Sky TV package, CD/radio. Home cinema system in the Orangery.
WiFi is available throughout the property. There is a study area with desk, PC, printer and Internet access on the first floor of the house.
There is no games room at Oldfield House.
The house is centrally heated. There are also coal effect fires in the Blue Room and snug.
6 bedrooms. First floor: 2 kings and 1 double. Second floor: king, twin, and a single with 2 pull outs if required.
All bedding and towels are provided.
1st floor - 2 with Victorian roll-top bath, separate shower cubicle, basin and WC. 2nd floor - 1 with bath, shower, basin and WC. Ground floor WC.
No specific facilities for disabled guests.
Cot and high chair available upon request.
The property benefits from several sunny patio areas and a large garden with outdoor furniture and a gas barbecue. There is also external storage.
There is no swimming pool.
There is secure parking for 10 cars at the property.
No smoking permitted inside Oldfield House.
No pets allowed.

Location

The village of Woolley Moor is situated on the edge of Ogston Reservoir North Derbyshire, close to the edge of the Peak District National Park and the Derbyshire towns of Matlock and Bakewell.
The bustling town of Bakewell is just 22 minutes away and Matlock is 10 minutes away.
Ashover, 2 miles from Oldfield, has a shop and post office and coffee shop.
The White Horse at Woolley Moor on next lane, walking distance. There are pubs in Ashover, 2 miles away.

Booking Information

A non-refundable deposit, 30% of total cost is required to secure booking. Balance required 8 weeks before holiday start date. Damage bond of £200 is required on all bookings. No pets are allowed in the property.
Departure 10am and arrival from 3pm.
Weekend 2 Night break departure 12pm.
