Plum Braes is located on a small organic family run farm, teeming with indigenous wildlife and with great views overlooking the Tweed Valley and the Cheviot Hills in the distance.
Cockle Kitty is one of the 2 larger cottages and is on the ground floor, ideal for anyone less mobile in a mixed group. Sociable living spaces in all 3 means fully equipped kitchens, dining for the number of guests and cosy lounge areas with wood stoves and Smart TVs. Plum Tree has a gorgeous feature spiral staircase leading to the bedroom upstairs and a second set of French windows with a fabulous outlook over the farm. All of the cottages benefit from biomass heating.
The outdoor patios are lovely spaces with plenty of furniture and barbecues in season. Plum Braes is lucky enough to enjoy a good climate encouraging guests to sit outside and soak up some sun. Plum Tree is especially fortunate to have a south-facing patio and the lawn is ideal for any energetic youngsters needing to let off some steam.
The mix of bedrooms works well for different ages with kings, a double and twins. Garden Bank has 2 en suites and the others have attractive modern family bathrooms.
The Eden River passes Plum Braes Barn, offering a lengthy but pretty walk to Coldstream, famous for its historic bridge between England and Scotland. Kelso is nearby and worth a visit with a wide range of interesting independent shops and cafes for afternoon tea as well as recommended restaurants. The Berwickshire Coastal Path can be reached within half an hour with the possibilities of visiting beaches including Seahouses, Eyemouth and Bamburgh. The Northumberland National Park gives guests a chance to see the iconic Hadrian's Wall or maybe to visit The Sill, the first Landscape Discovery Centre.
