It is ideally situated at the very heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park with limitless potential in an educationally rich and varied environment. The friendly and caring atmosphere created within the centre ensures that the contribution to personal and social development gained from the residential experience is maximised.
The Centre is housed in the former railway station and dates from around 1860. Situated in its own extensive grounds adjacent to the Rivers Caerfanell and Usk. The centre was extended and modernised in 2006 and now provides accommodation for 32 students and up to 4 staff in 12 separate dormitories.
Programmes available include forest schools courses, environmental studies, John Muir Award, team building, personal development, National Navigation Award and hill-walking.
Two experienced outdoor education staff are based at the site and can provide specialise guidance with regard to suitable activities.
The centre has two modern 17 seat mini buses.
Talybont is a quiet market village nestling between the scenic hill fort on the ridge of Allt yr Esgair and the eastern flanks of the Brecon Beacons yet only a short distance away from the Cathedral city of Brecon.
Access to the river Usk launch point is only 500m away. The Monmouthshire and Brecon canal is also easily reached in the village itself.
The Taff Trail passes through the village giving easy access to a superb off-road cycling area.
