Top of the Rock Pod Pàirc and Walking Centre, County Cork, sleeps 3-23 in 7 bedrooms.
The Top of the Rock Pod Pairc and Walking Centre consists of 7 camping pods of various sizes and levels of comfort, 5 spaces for camper vans and 6 tent spaces, all within an acre of land near our farmhouse a mile outside of Drimoleague. In the centre of the Pod Pairc is a brand new purpose-built Walking Centre which doubles as the large reception/dining/social area, with bathrooms, showers, games room, kitchens and laundry room. Within the Pod Pairc is the children's play area, the communal camp fire and the enclosed duck pond.
Our facilities are noted for being immaculately clean and orderly. The atmosphere in the Pod Pairc is one of respect and kindness.
The Pod Pairc is built where our grandfather Sam Ross had his farmyard. We have reproduced his cow house, cart shed and duck's house along with a one acre paddock where everybody can engage with the cows, sheep, goats and donkeys from the safety of the ranch fencing. In the morning one wakes to the sound of sheep, ducks, donkeys and chickens and throughout the day the antics of the goats and other animals is a source of interest and fun especially for children.
It takes an hour to walk the beautiful walkway around the perimeter of our 48 acre farm which takes in a stretch of the Ilen River with seats, picnic tables and a bird hide provided. 5 acres of the farm are devoted to birdlife conservation and pheasants, mallard and partridge being protected. Ours is a busy working farm with 30 beef cows and their calves. Often our guests get to see a cow calving in the paddock. We run Farmhands in spring and summer for families or groups who want to engage with the farm for 2 hours. This includes a hayride and a bale maze for children.
The village of Drimoleague is within walking distance. It has an excellent Centra foodstore, 4 Irish pubs, 3 food outlets and 3 churches, as well as numerous quaint shops and a par three golf course. It is a most welcoming village, just 12 miles inland from the Wild Atlantic Way.
