Large camping barn in the southern Peak District

Holiday Rental for Groups of Families and Friends.
Waterslacks Camping Barn, Leek, Staffordshire, Peak District, sleeps 10-15 in 1 bedrooms.

Waterslacks Camping Barn is a traditional stone field barn that has been thoughtfully converted into basic accommodation. It has a secluded location on the edge of the steep-sided Manifold Valley and enjoys stunning views of the surrounding hills. It is a great experience for those who enjoy getting back to nature, or don't mind roughing it.

The main area inside the barn has wooden sleeping platforms and a bench/table (guests provide their own camping mats and sleeping bags etc). The kitchen/dining area has picnic benches, storage units, a sink and slabs for cooking (guests supply their own camp stove and cooking equipment etc).

There is a wash basin and WC within the barn, and an electric shower, which is the only source of running hot water.

There is no central heating in the barn, but wall-mounted quartz heaters offer effective warmth in the main areas. Electricity is supplied through a meter (standard rate) that requires a £1 coin.

Outside there is off-road parking for around ten cars. A grassed terrace to the front of the barn has an area where campfires are permitted (wood may be available to purchase or bring your own).

Any extra guests can use the surrounding meadows to pitch tents or book places in our smaller camping barn, which sleeps six and has similar facilities to Waterslacks Barn. It is situated on the same lane and is approximately 1/4 mile away (all at extra cost)

Butterton is less than a mile from the barn and has its own pub (hot meals served), butcher, post office and newly-opened craft activity centre that is open daily for coffee/tea and cakes.

Local activities and attractions include exploring the large caves that are within walking distance of the barn, cycling along the Manifold Valley track and hiking to Dovedale's famous stepping stones.

Alton Towers is a short drive away, as is Chatsworth House and the pretty market towns of Buxton and Ashbourne.
